A Love Story with Food

In honor of Valentine’s Day, I will discuss my cookbook, “Something Healthy to Eat – A Love Story with Food”, and talk about how I was able to reverse my husband’s high cholesterol to excellent without medication by changing ingredients in well loved and familiar foods. Truly a love story with food as nothing says loving like something from the oven – especially if you can make your love healthy.

New Shows

I am very excited about the new LynnCAM TV. We are planning more healthy eating shows to stem childhood obesity. The kids love to cook with me on TV and enjoy the healthy meals they prepare after the show is filmed.

We’re looking for sponsors and for our shows to be picked up on national TV.

Thanksgiving – A Success

One of my guests is diabetic and trying to lose weight. As usual, I was able to present a Thanksgiving feast that was appropriate for my friend and for everybody else to enjoy. I served:

  • Cream of Carrot Soup (no fat, dash of salt)
  • Turkey breast (no skin, no fat)
  • Green Beans Almondine with sprinkle of olive oil
  • Cranberry Relish (very little sugar)
  • Sweet Potato and White Potato Medallions with skin drizzled with a little agave syrup
  • Very Instant Strawberry Sorbet (sugar free but sweet)
  • Green Tea

I served family style and made plenty. The men folk and those who could afford second helpings were quite satisfied. My friend was satisfied as well although she was aware of her portion sizes. Everybody had a great time, enjoyed the food and were thrilled that it was healthy. All the recipes came straight from my book.

Healthy Eating Column

My recent healthy eating column appears weekly in the Lynn Journal (www.lynnjournal.com). I submit recipes and meal suggestions for the season. Fat Free Cheesecake, Gazpacho, Seaweed Tofu Salad and Versatile Casserole we some of my entries during the summer. I’m busy creating meal suggestions for school days and the Fall.
